Special Meeting of the Mazeppa City Council

Wednesday, July 31, 2024

A special meeting of the Mazeppa City Council was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Chris Hagfors.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Present: Mayor Chris Hagfors. Council Persons Steve Liffrig, Michael Hammes, Dustin Wiebusch, and Erica Young.

Others Present: City Engineer Matt Mohs and City Administrator Clerk Karl Nahrgang.

City Engineer presented the bids submitted for the Wastewater Treatment Plant project at bid opening July 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM. All bids were less than the Engineer’s Estimate of $12,100,000.00.

Wapasha Construction Co., Inc.                                     $9,746,000.00

Market & Johnson.                                                      $11,290,000.00

Magney Construction, Inc.                                           $11,304,900.00

Motion by Young, second by Liffrig to award the Wastewater Treatment Project to Wapasha Construction Co., Inc with a bid of $9,746,000.00 contingent on USDA Rural Development Concurrence. All in favor, none opposed. Carried.

Engineer and Council will move forward for the process of preparing for bidding on the sewer collection system projects associated with the Wastewater Treatment Plant project.

Motion by Liffrig, second by Young to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, none opposed. Carried.

Meeting adjourned at 6:25 PM.
