AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF A CHARGE FOR CLEANUP DAY IN THE CITY OF MAZEPPA

Section 1.

Each residence in the City of Mazeppa shall pay a fee to be set by the City Council by resolution for the cost of a Cleanup Day each year in the City.

Section 2.

Billings shall be done to each residence in the City once per year in January of each year. The City Clerk may place a surcharge equal to the fee established n Section 1 on the City water/sewer bills for each residence serviced by City water/sewer and shall bill other residences separately. The said surcharge for Cleanup Day shall be payable to the City Clerk at the same time as the water/sewer billings pursuant to City code. If said surcharge is not paid to the City Clerk within 30 days of the date that said billing is deposited by the City Clerk into the U.S. Mail addressed to the resident, the City Clerk shall add a one-time late charge of $2.00 to said billing and shall then certify the total billing to the County Auditor of the County of Wabasha, who shall collect the same and enforce the collection thereof in the same manner and in all respects as county and state taxes, and such surcharge and late charge shall be added to the said taxes, subject to like penalty, costs, and interest charges as said state and county taxes. The County Treasurer of Wabasha County shall, when the said Cleanup Day charges are collected by him, forthwith pay them over to the Mazeppa City Treasurer.
